Honduras, capital is Tegucigalpa. My parents are from San Pedro, which is a city there. The countries that border Honduras and Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala. One of the most famous place in Honduras is the Pulhapanzak cascades. It is a very beautiful water fall, with very clear water. It is subtropical in the lowlands of Honduras. In Utila (the Bay Islands) it is known to be the best place to see the worlds largest mammal named the Whale Shark The famous dance there is called PUNTA, which you mostly move your feet. Honduras got it's independence in 1821 and their president is Manuel Zelaya. In 1821 Honduras separated from Spain. The most famous soccer player is Adolfo Valenci.. The population of Honduras is 7,326,496 in 2006. Coffee is also grown in Honduras and the the main fruits are bananas, coconuts, mangoes, oranges, papaya, and pineapples. The alcoholic drink there is called CHICA made out of pineapple skins. Soups and stews are very popular foods and the Cassava soup is a favorite. Salsa is used a lot to make the food taste exquisite.
